Yes, but both too old and too young.

There should always be something to do or to think about.

Mike just between you and me I too love my electric screwdriver but if I have some more screws to install I do use a manual screwdriver.

sorry I couldn't help it I just thought it was funny that you had to stop because your screwdriver ran down

I'm old and weak. I don't have the strength to do it manually any more.

Besides, building a TTT with a manual screwdriver is a recipe for carpal tunnel syndrome! :frightened:

Today it looks like I will be able to assemble the two side walls. Here is the completed street-side wall along with the rear and front walls fitted to gauge the volume.

Image

My wife should have no trouble standing up inside the trailer even with the pop top in the down position. I'll have to slouch a bit, however.

Image

There will be opening windows on both sides just like in the rear.

Image

I drilled a pair of pocket screw holes that weren't needed. Can you spot the mistake?

Time to buy plywood. Is your truck bed large enough to hold 4x8 sheets flat? I figure I need 15 or so sheets of 5mm Luan from HD. If you are able to help haul them, I would be most appreciative.

Just came up 6 screws short of finishing the other side framing. Tomorrow is another day.

Cheers,

You're moving along quickly on your trailer and it looks good. But, I am marveling at your organizational skills. You've even got a boat in there!

Actually, there are two boats that my Father built for me. One is a 12-foot lapstrake canoe and the other is a 17-foot kayak. Both are kits from Chesapeake Light Craft. Just for the fun of it, he is now working on his seventh little boat in the last four years.

It will haul them, but not flat. I usually put 3 -4 5 ft sections of 2x4 in the bed, to carry thin sheets at an angle without bending them.

I am ready and able to help on Monday.

Now all four walls are completely framed. Just the two front corner pieces remain to be fitted.

Image

Next step will be getting 5mm sheets of plywood for the skins inside and out. I think I'll just get 10 of the 18 I figure I will need because I don't want the thin sheets that will form the exterior skin lying around where they might warp.

Also, made the frames for the trapezoidal-shaped wheel wells and settled on the location and dimensions of the side door (27 inches wide nominal).
