I will enjoy watching your build. I agree with everybody else. . .you have a lovely family.

Are you planning on trying to fit all of them in the tear? Or will you take turns?

Well that is certainly a relief! I thought you were going to try wedging people in there. Good luck on your build!

We finally are starting up again.

Postby SIXTOTWO » Fri Jan 30, 2009 6:36 pm

I know it's been a while since we worked on our tear but now we're ready to go full force!

We're ready to cut the plywood but are afraid! At $160. per sheet we should be, hugh?!.

Can't wait to get the sides up to really see the profile.

Here's the plywood, ain't it pretty? :D

Awesom Build

Postby NebraskaTeachr » Fri Feb 27, 2009 1:18 am

What an awesome build you have going. Seeing your kids out there has me determined to get my two boys involved. I can hardly wait to see your finished product.

You know, if you built three of those things you could hitch them all behind the truck and then all of you could have a camper to sleep in. If the truckers can pull tandems and triples you should be able to.

Now that's an idea. Although then they wouldn't know what it's like to suffer like we did in the tent all those years. Wouldn't want to deprive the kiddos of that expierence!!! haha

Are those your boys in your profile picture? They look like you could put them to work. haha!
Projects like this are how our second son got interested in carpentry. He is now 19 and can build anything you put in front of him. He's in the process of building a trick box for a professional magician friend of ours.
Get them out there!

:applause: Very nice, wonderful design and even better execution!

We don't have kids at home any more, but I do need to get my wife more involved in our build.

Hey Thanks Bill and Marijo!
You're from Altoona hugh, my sister used to live there. Beautiful countryside!!

Aggie79,
Thanks! I'm having a lot of fun helping him with our build. I mostly clean up after him as he works but yeah, it's nice working together. I can't stand a messy shop and he just throws and can never find anything when he needs it unless I'm right behind him putting it back in it's place. "Where's my drill?, Where's my clamps?, Where's my iced tea???????
More gets done when I'm in there so I like that! I want to go campin' and not spend the summer in the shop!!!!

Just remember to leave enough clearance at the cooler for the hatch structure.

Looks great.
Holy cow, Rose is a teenager now! Done? Surely you jest. A teardrop is never "done".
