Plumbing update

Postby Forrest747 » Fri Jun 04, 2010 12:12 am

Going to update the water system thread I started in construction here.

Had a good build day. Cut out part of the side with the router to allow the door to sit flush against the side. Got alot of the plumbing done and secured into place. Secured the water tank so that it can not move side to side, and worked on the bracket for the fill valve. Came time to secure the vent line that will also be a back up fill line and thought that it would clear the water pump. It doesnt. So i will be moving the water pump to the back of the space after i build a support bracket out of plywood.

Moved the pump yesterday. took pictures, but havent downloaded them yet. I also secured the 1-1/4 vent line and connected the water tank to the water pump. need to get some more hose to run the line from the water pump to the faucet. No rush.

Also had a issue today in dry fitting the door hinges while i know its 5/16-18 bolt and the t-nut is the same its not matching up. Thinking I am going to have to enlarge the hole to be able to tilt the bolt around so it will line just the right way.

Tonight I also ordered my fiberglass tape, CPES along with the fill-it and what they recommend to do the fiberglass. I also ordered som t-nuts since I am getting sick and tired of not having them at the hardware store. Plus it was cheaper this way.

I have an extra queen size mattress that i was just going to sell, but it is big enough to fit into Charley. However if I do I will lose my lower cabinets, not sure I am willing to do that. We shall see.

Ordered my faucet last night. It will be my fathers day gift. Here is the new location of the water pump. Much happier with it for sure.

Worked a little on the doors today and getting the windows just right. Drilled holes in the trim of the windows set those in the doors and drilled the holes through the wood. Glues backing plates that i will use the router to cut out the interior hole. Also bought some flexiable molding to attach to the inside.

Also worked on the attachment points for the hinges. Getting really close to being able to skin the interior.

Worked some more on Charley today. Got the new T-bolts and so i used the router to recess them to make skinning the interior a little easier. Put the hinges on and hung the doors with care. Gap at the top and on the hinge side. was to be expected. so tomorrow will sand the opening just a little bit to make it close all the way. Also went to REI and bought the cargo net for the galley. using these instead of cabinet doors, this will save weight and go for the look and function I am after. Installed one just to see how it would look however thinking about it I will make some changes to it and when I install the others.

Well for fathers day I got me a faucet and late last week worked on the doors. Once I sanded the edges some and got it flush at the bottom and found it not even oh well a little frustrating. Also moved the power supply to make room for the slide that will be used for the camping stove.
