I have been long in the making and short on the posting - but my build is progressing.
I should be ready to camp (via 'Teardrop Time') somewhere around 2019!

The back feels great -- just not gonna lift anything heavier than maybe 12 oz (OK a 16oz might work)!

I made a purchase - to inspire me to get some more accomplished...
121831
They come from Iowa80-dot-com. (Item Number: 29172 for those that are interested.)
They also come with three clips for mounting.
They were surprisingly inexpensive -- shipping doubled the cost, but they arrived at my door ... for 30 bucks.
(And yes I tested to see if they will fit over the axle hubs and dust caps -- they do!)

I will try to document what I do to adapt them to fit the harbor-feight 12"- 5 bolt wheels.

So with the epoxy coats behind me... sanding and scotch-brite done... wipe down with solvent and clean rags -- it's primer-time!
121832
After long deliberation and procrastination I settled on Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 Water-Base Primer.
I noticed it has a slight ammonia smell when applied -- but dries fast and smooth. (garage door open and fans on.)
Maybe the ammonia is there for mildew preventive?

It is only primer so don't expect great color coverage; surface coat and base preparation is what it's for.

Here's how it looks after two coats; foam roller...

I am a painter by trade, I also used the Zinsser 123 It is a great primer... I painted 2 coats of primer before I painted a coat of finish... then when I am all done, I will put another coat of finish on.

Looking Good!

The paint scheme is done.

Hint:
To get really sharp lines from the painters tape... paint over all the edges with the same base color, and let dry before applying the new color. You have to wait for one more coat of paint to dry, but the results are worth it. No bleeds under the tape.

Thanks Tom.
Any compliments that come from the folks here are high praise. The pictures I have posted somewhat hide the details of the finish. The 10-ft rule really applies here. You can see the taped seams, nail holes, imperfections, etc. All under the paint. The body is sealed under two coats of Raka epoxy, and then 2 coats of Zinsser 1-2-3, then two more coats of base color, THEN the darker colors are two MORE coats. You'd think with all those layers, some of the detail of the ummm, 'bodywork' (in this case a lack thereof) would not show so much. But I made a choice. Get painting now; so we can go camping in this lifetime!

Just to demonstrate that "Ten Foot Rule" will really need to apply. Even one of the best looking seams still looks like this:

The flat seams really are the worst offenders.
