Camp Critter Build-- final update

Postby LDK » Wed Mar 28, 2012 12:11 pm

It has been almost a month but I finally got the tongue jack that I had on order. It works like a charm. I also had the critter weighed today

and fully loaded it weighs a whopping 980 lbs. I actually thought it would weigh more than that because of the extra metal to the tongue and

because of the 3/4" sides and floor, not to mention the oak cabinets. It's a tiny yet very solid camper.

After giving it alot of thought I decided to remove the front and back decals. I just left the side decals and I also went alittle bigger with

them. I am finally done with all the modifications and now it's time to just enjoy it.

Thanks

Actually the maiden voyage was last october a few pages back. I've just been tweaking it and tweaking it to the point that I'm tweaked out.

I'm satisfied with it so I think I'll leave it alone now.

Hey Earl

Someday I would like to meet a bunch of you texans in the south central chapter. That seems to be the happening chapter.

I'm glad you're happy with your teardrop, Larry. It looks well build and clean looking; and with your truck, it makes a very attractive package.
....Beautiful pictures, too. May you have many long and happy years, camping in your 'critter'. :vroom:

Come on down to LCG in October, that's the one to hit if you can only choose one in the South Central!

Larry it has turned out great bud and you will change stuff once you start using it more. Don't forget to come down to GA area sometime and visit! Thought you might have come down for the basketball game played in Atlanta, some of your Kentucks came 2 days early and started tailgating early with some homemade drink as one put it on the news . Take it easy bud!

Cliff
In God we trust, shoot the rest and he will sort out!

Man it's been really basketball crazy here in kentucky. Kentucky and Louisville playing each other in the final 4 this saturday. I'm a diehard UK fan and my son in law is an extreme Louisville fanatic. Were gonna watch the game together. :o

Outstanding TD!! I really appreciate the way you documented the whole build.Great looking cabinetry, interior and excellent detail.Looks like you built it to match the truck.I've found that my other half doesn't like a lot of the things I do,that is until she actually takes the time to experience them rather than dreading them.Next vacation or trip to visit family take the TD and save the $$$ you would have spent on motels and she may decide she likes camping, especially since you can afford to go more often.
