wow it is nice the way the red fenders make the frame looks nice. Most people paint the frame to hide the red.

Earl, Sharon, Terry, and Becky

Thank you for your kind words.
I enjoy the camper but If I ever build again I would do so many things different. If #2 ever comes around
it would be longer, wider, less cabinets with 2 doors and air.

Larry,
I agree with Earl and the others. Your mods made an already great looking teardrop even better!
Take care,
Tom

I'm sure there are at least a couple of people wondering why less cabinets.

Hi Becky

I meant interior cabinets. I didn't know until after I started building that my wife (Becky), was claustrophobic.
If I had to do over I would've built just a shelf in the back and no over head cabinet which, by the way, I've bumped my head on a few times. :?

I hope my husband doesn't read that response Larry.   since he and I went round and round over whether to put an overhead cabinet in the front. I wanted it, even built it, he was adamantly against it. There is no shelf. We also went with the shelf in the back. It does make it seem nice and open and spacious, but I have had moments when I wonder if I did the right thing. Reading that post makes me feel better about that part.

Now I'll probably have to re-adjust the side tent because the camper is about 2" to 3" lower.
Luckily I can still stand under the hatch while its up.

Good move Larry, I did the same with absolutely NO regrets. Just got back from Outer Banks, took some curves a little faster than I should have and our li'l camper hugged the road good.
The bumper on the back ties it all together with the cabinets, looks very nice. :applause:

Re: Camp Critter update 6/16/13-new canopy

Postby LDK » Sun Jun 16, 2013 1:27 pm

Hey all,

I decided to have a canopy made for the critter. I've been toying around with this idea for a long time so I decided to have it made. It is 4' x 8' x 8'. It will provide some shade if I camp in a sunny area. I had the same upholster that sewed the side tent to sew this up too. I also used turn buckles instead of snaps and I also had the side tent readjusted and turn buckles only in the corners to keep the wind from blowing it off.
Only one other thing I may do to it soon and that will probably be it, but who really knows for sure.

It looks nice, Larry. You will probably really enjoy that. It's big enough that you could even put a small dining table under it, should the weather not be the best. :applause:
