Thanks Kent. I too saw that and it is a great help to visualize how that is all supposed to be. Thank you for putting it here I will need it soon. And thanks to Tom for sharing the work.

This is a classic piece of work that everyone should have. If you all out there are using Grants trim pieces or something similar you need this diagram!

Grants offset door hinges automatically give you the bumpout you need for the weather strip.

Kent,

You are a hoot. You crack me up how you just goof on some posts, but checking your progress/quality that shows you are really a serious craftsman in a clown suit. 8)

I just applied the CPES. Man that is terrible stuff. Some of you report 3 coats. No way. One was too many.

Kirk great progress bud, over on the tearherkers site one of the TN huys has a small tear that he built to pull with his smart car. He did it in 10 days and it looks great.

Cliff
In God we trust, shoot the rest and he will sort out!

RE: Smart Car as TowVee

Postby mezmo » Sun Sep 04, 2011 11:43 pm

Hi campmasterk/Kirk,

Here're some links I came up with:

http://www.smartcarofamerica.com/forums ... van-21758/

http://www.smartmaniacs.co.uk/forums/sh ... 405&page=4

http://www.smart-camper.com/home.htm

This is pg1 of the thread, pg4 has 2009 ForTwo towing specs:
http://www.smartcarofamerica.com/forums ... ars-40383/

It is done by other owners. Your TD looks small enough if it's not
overly heavy.

Cheers,
Norm/mezmo

Kirk,

When neither is in use, you could store the Smarty in the Tear. Just to save garage space.
