I think if anybody could find any extra space in a tear I think you are the man. I have to admit, after seeing what you did with the canvas covering and how your first held up, you've made a good case for covering with canvas which must seal much better than aluminum. Great job! I really enjoy watching your build.

You really come up with some ingenious fixes - the kind that seem obvious once you have done them. This newest one that I noticed of the sliding middle 'sock' shelf is so simple but effective.

I also love your under-bed storage, do you think you could have had as an effective storage areas/drawers if you had gone a little lower - say 6" space instead of 12"?
I would like to get more that 4' high cabin, but don't want the TD to get too tall.

Really impressed with your TD design and build.

It took a while before I found the time, but now I have painted the Desert Moose logo on our tear. t looks good from 40 feet. any closer and you can see the jagged edge from painting on the coarse canvas texture. But we're happy with it.

Moose and cactus on each side.

And the writing on the hatch. It's wonderful to have a professional artist to do the design for me. Thank you to Dave McCamant!!

and a quartering look

PS, being vertically challenged, here's what I did to lower the hatch so I could paint without standing on a stool... Ever see a teardrop do a wheelie?

Everything looks amazing! Very well done. You've inspired me to do a canvas skin on my teardrop too. I wanted to ask how the canvas has held up since your first trip? Do you think it will require upkeep soon?

It's been outside in the rain, snow and sun for over three years now. Other than getting dirty and needing washing, there's no sign of any maintenance being required yet. We're real happy with how it worked out.

I was wondering the same myself. Would you do the in-floor storage again, and would it be as effective with 6" instead of 12"?

Sure would. It's one of our favorite things.
6" would be better than none, but we have all of the 12" filled up.....
I'd do it 12" again, but that's just us.
