What a beautiful build. I especially love some of the nautical touches such as using cleats etc.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments. It's a great feeling as most of you already know.

I finished my throw pillows. I like the interior very much.

Next weekend I will take some more detailed pics of how I dealt with all my little sealing and finishing issues.

I can't thank everyone on the forum enough. I absolutely could never have done this without all the knowledge and support of all of you.

Beautiful Becky!!! Now you have less than 2 months to take it camping, figure out whats works and what you want to modify and then do it before CRA :D !! You think I'm joking but we all do it, I'm extending my interior cabinets and my galley cabinet doors before CRA and a few exterior things just because Sheri and I had issues with some of the stuff. Love what you've to it girl and can't wait to see it in person!

Cliff

Re: Lance and Becky's Sagwagon - We're Legal!!

Postby Oldragbaggers » Wed Jun 05, 2013 9:41 am

Glory be...we are road legal. I have a Maryland tag and a vin plate for my home built trailer!!

I had heard horror stories about how hard it was going to be and I actually had all of my paperwork prepared and ready to send off for a Maine tag, but I really wanted to be Maryland legal, so I decided I would give it a try knowing that if they gave me a hard time I would just walk out the door and send my paperwork to Maine.

I went to a lot of trouble to organize receipts and made a spread sheet of expenses, on which I wrote my "statement" that I had built it. It was expensive (it is Maryland, after all), but really very painless. The clerk was extremely nice, seemed impressed with how organized my paperwork was, and after looking at the pictures I had to submit asked me a lot of questions about the trailer. She ended up looking through a lot of my build photos on my iPhone. What a relief. I still have to get my inspection (don't anticipate any problems) for the permanent sticker. But I have a temporary sticker good until the end of July so we are GOOD TO GOOOOOO. Very happy.

Congrats on the completion. :D

Can you describe what you did with the paperwork a little more?
How much do you feel your organization contributed to getting
your registration accepted? Were the build pictures as important
or was the official just sincerely interested?

Thanks,
pchast
