Instead of the periscope, how about adding a conning tower?

[quote="aggie79That is a super cool design. I love the portholes and the whole submarine theme. Perfect![/quote]

:clapping hands: What he said!

I'm going to keep an eye on this one as I think through my own design.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I have a trailer now. Don't know what kind of deal I got but it was free. All I can say is there anyone that wants a boat without a trailer.

Did some work for a friend and they gave me a boat. It is a 16' 1981 Cajun Fish and Ski. Well the boat itself is a little to far gone for my taste so I will put the trailer to good use. The trailer is a dual axle right now and the axle is of the drop type. So the boat will come off and I will get the torch out and start cutting and welding.

Has anyone tried the HDPE sheeting on the outside of the TD. I seen it on Rich's list as a alternative covering. I was looking for something that would cover the whole trailer without seems. This stuff you could weld together to make panels. Glue this to that said to use House Goop to glue it to the wood.

I did find the post by Sid. So I have read it now. Does not sound like there is a good enough glue for it and it moves around alot.

You could probably get $100 or so for the second axle. Or use it for payment for somebody to haul off the boat.

I made a ton of sawdust this weekend. I filled a half five gallon bucket of it. Put a lot of wood to gether. The difference is it was 10' in the air and it turned out like this:

When you have a 6 year old that has been wishing for a tree house all summer. So she got one this weekend.

Everyone else that has posted looked like they got a lot done.

Postby Fishingtomatoseed » Sun Feb 12, 2012 6:03 am

Well it has been a while since i have posted anything on the trailer. But I have been collecting material and I have the trailer down to this:
Image

The material I have know includes:
Floor Plywood
Floor Sealer
All the Steel to weld to trailer
All the studing material
Two crank out RV Windows
The trailer
Led lighting for the Galley
Image

By the way all free so far................ :FNP

In the next week or so hopefully get the trailer in and start deciding what to do with it.

very interesting concept as for the periscope you can go about it many different ways the one way that I thought would be neat would be a small back up camera and a monitor in a sealed pipe should be able to get everything for it off of Ebay for a few dollars

With the bent frame members, you could build a walking isle at the low point then step up the floor at the sides for extra headroom
Award trailers used that concept.
A section of 60" culvert would make a great submarine body...
