I am big on adaptive reuse but Compass Rose came with a Progressive Dynamics power center so I did not face the question of trying to adapt something. I am however mindful of the care and feeding of deep cycle batteries and there are some over voltage and reverse voltage protections built in the PD devises.

Yeah I don't have a problem with reworking or building a new one, but after more consideration going to just buy a converter. The cost of the Proto PCB alone will be $75.00. I would probably have 4-5 hours in design and with all the rest of the build to do, just gonna take the lazy route and buy one, lol.

The old converter has already been adapted for use for electrolysis. I have a tank setup for rust removal and 2 other small ones for electroplating zinc & copper.

Moho, I think a wise choice. There are certain things I will do my self but your time is also of value and when some one else has done the design and produced a product that works very well...
Don't think of it as lazy think of it as prudent ;)

That looks like it is going to be an efficient galley. The utensil drawer is nice!

It looks like you may have used special wood for your cabinet doors? What are they made of?

I lucked into a supply of 1/4" general ply that had heavy graining and spalting, it's the cheap stuff!

Picture of some of the spalting and graining on inside of a cabinet...

Started the interior cabinetry. I have the area for the power converter and electrical in the upper right. The wood doesn't match but I plan to paint it black anyways just in that area. Lower middle will be a slide out for a the laptop, which will be used for tv, movies, music throughout the teardrop. I will be installing a router (Linksys runs on 12v DC) for using my iPhone as a remote control through iTunes for music and movies. The rest is just general storage area.

They are 1/4" below the roof line to allow room for the inner skin. I purposely left out the spar above the cabinetry until I'm ready to skin to allow for more access in them for wiring and such. Not to mention they're not complete yet :) Camera angle makes it look like a larger gap than it is too.
