First time on the truck, havn't seen them but side to side with no clear view.

Need to get a higher hitch, bout 2 inches to low I think.

With the new hitch and bit taller tire she the break should line up quite good with the topper.
Now to see if I can sleep in this thing....lol

Well, time to finish packing then off to Cyprus lake for the weekend and see how she tows.

First time on truck

Postby PcHistorian » Fri Mar 16, 2012 9:14 pm

It looks like the tail end of your truck is low too. bring that up the two inches and you'll be fine. Or take the ball off, flip the hitch in the receiver and screw the ball back on.

Lookin' sweet!
Great job for sure.

Oh, now I remember. You measured the tent to truck be by circumference, not diameter. So to attach to the trailer, don't go by trailer dimensions, go by door circumference. Do you have a people door that is not the full width of your trailer?

Well that was a bust.
Drove 60 miles up to Cyprus Lake Natioanal park, and only walk in camping,
And I'll quote a federal employee at this point..." Cause normally this time of year theres 3 feet of snow so we won't open the gate, but ya can park over there and walk in with your tent "...

Guess what ya overpaid federal employees, theres NO SNOW as they all stand around with there hands in pockets...Grr
Started headin home....But wifey saved the weekend,
What about that park where some of your customers camp all winter????

So onto the internet via smart phone, get the number and call.
Ya, we're open, we actually just opened up another loop for the weekend cause the weathers so nice...
Score, and what the heck, only another 100 some odd miles and we're loaded up ...lol

So it wasn't a bust after all
http://www.tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=49501&p=921302#p921302

Trailer towed awesome, Picked up a 2 inch drop bar before we headed out instead of my normal 4 inch drop.
no wiggle was able to run 100 klm in overdrive, and I can see past it without mirror extensions

Chris got bored and broke out the red paint at camp...lol

Image
Painted up the angle irons, even though they will eventually get covered

Image

And this is here stance with the 2 inch drop hitch, me happy, just the way I like it to ride,

Image
Looks better with the angle iron painted red, don't it?

I could have aired up the truck seein as I have air springs, but I don't want to run 60Lbs in the air bags unless I have my full compliment of tools on.
And you should never rely on air bags to get a trailer sitting right, always do it with the hitch

We move a few mobile homes, for escort, or if I'm winching a park trailer and am parked in a precarious spot, or doing a roadside service call on a rv.
Not only that, all the little kids think I'm a fireman....lol

I'm just trying to figure out how long it took you to get this far. That's pretty good time.
