Building Miss Piggy

Postby Vedette » Sun Jun 17, 2012 1:00 pm

This is the build of my first Teardrop "Miss Piggy"
It all started last summer with the acquisition of a 1959 Simca Vedette.
As I am a car guy and I plan to tow "Miss Piggy" with one of our Street Rods or Vintage Cars, I wanted it to be different from most Teardrops.
It has been a year long build that became way more involved than first planned.
I have included pictures of this build to date.

Holy katz, what a project! I look forward to seeing the completed pics, that is some serious sheet metal work you're doing there

Originally I invisioned using it the other way around, but it fit so much better upside down I just had to go that way.

It was time to cut out some of the rusty floor and build the frame (Chassis)86616866158661486613
Took just over an hour for two of us to build the frame. When it was ready we just had to slide it in place and start welding the body to it.

Now to figure out how to fill in some of those nasty gaps??93659936609366293663
A second roof from a 1950 Studebaker was needed and the front doors from the Simca Vedette.
