Painted all the white plastic trim with rustoleum "aluminum" paint, including wood around perimeter of hatch where water damage is most likely. Then added this weather seal around hatch. Fits tight.

Finally! A real working DOOR!

Still have to paint it and trim it, but it seals real nice.

Well, it's not done, but it was functional enough for a close campground tryout Friday night.

already can see that the plastic hinge isn't going to hold up to Texas Sun without "pooching" between fasteners. Will have to get me a hurricane hinge and try again.

Tracked ok with a 50lb spare car tire in the front of the cabin, but I definitely need to move the wheels back a little. Still have to trim and paint the door, and install electrical plugs for the galley/cabin, and install cabin shelving, and and and....

but it was a nice night and everyone at the campground wanted the nickle tour. Had a lot of fun.

Finally getting cool enough to do some more finishing work and get this thing legal and on the road.

Had some "absorptive" style fence stain left over, went to work on the interior and the hatch.

Also bought a 47" mattress from Ikea, (subject of separate post in general area).

Door is now painted, still need to trim, but it seals good.

The curtains are my wife's touch.

That looks very good and I am very impressed by the low weight!

Happy camping!
