The St Andrews and Aberdeen pictures are lovely. It's good to see your rig all finished and being used. The combination of both flowers, stripes, and a solid color pillow makes a pleasant combination to compliment your teardrop's exterior finish. Nicely done!

I think I can...I THINK I can...I THINK; I CAN! (I think I did it!)
I've a problem with a split in the roof which I've fixed. I'll post a video and pictures next week. I used glue with no fixings and that was obviously not enough. The split was at the join of 4' and. 1' piece, it's 5' wide.
Off to Oxfordshire tomorrow. We'll stop overnight at Gretna green and carry on south on Friday. Back on Sunday. Forecast is rain. Oh well...
I've been out and about and in true Scottish weather it's been pouring with rain at the weekends. The commonwealth games are on in Glasgow and the weather during the week has been outstanding.
On the last wet trip we ended up with water inside the TD. It took a hosepipe to recreate and find the problem. It turns out the water was flowing down the curve of the roof, reaching the galley hinge, flowing sideways and then pouring over and then lipping into the TD instead of cascading away from the body. To compound matters the roof join at the 4' sheet, split and I've added go-faster aluminium stripes. They look great and sort that leak. ADVICE.... Before cutting the galley hinge flush with the body, do some water tests; in my experiment, about 1/2" 15mm is about right. I'm off to Dumfries, on the Solway firth, South west Scotland and heavy rain is forecasted, so I'll be able to test it in real world conditions. I've made some teaspoon lures and hope to catch something from the shore this weekend. Allegedly WD40 is made from fish oil is quite an attractive....I'll keep you posted.
My indicator lights were just too dim so I've added some proper bulbs.
The forecast for the weekend was torrential rain, we went anyway. It turned out it rained about 25% of the time but when it did, it really chucked it down.
Saturday night we had friends over; normally I get a gallon keg of however they did not have it on the shelf and tried this keg, It is delicious.
J and M brought some whiskey I'd not tried . A single malt from Islay, it's like Laphroig, a strong peaty flavour; some would almost say TCP....I like it.
Needless to say it was a long lie in on Sunday.....
In three weeks we're off to the east side of the country. Meeting up with family who have a proper caravan. I've a few mods to do on the TD: - The site does not have an electric hook up so I need to add a switch to isolate the PC power supply and I'll add some terminals for the battery. - Fold down table for the doors of the TD so we can have coffee or a drink when waking up or watching a movie (respectively) - The pull out shelf needs to be raised to make it easy to pull out.
Hope you like the really short movie...Dunfries and Galloway is a lovely part of the country and worth a visit.
A long weekend away to Northumberland. Weather was changeable and occasionally wet; the pubs serve great beer. I'm tempted to start brewing again..... There are lovely beaches and castles littered all over the place and definitely a place to visit.
We've put a new (thicker) mattress in the TD and its made a huge difference. We've also started to thin out some of the things we "might" need when we go camping. This camp site did not have electricity so the TD electrics were modified to accept a battery or my PC power supply.(remember to post pictures )
The land rover project is on hold while the police "investigate" how the garage sold me a stolen vehicle. Ownership is in dispute and it is unlikely I'll get her back.
So with time on my hands I've a new project. Using my welding skills from the Landy and wood working building a Teardrop I'm restoring a Great Western Railway 1933(ish) Mink Goods wagon. I wont have the bogies or under carriage which is just as well as my Toyota RAV4 is not legally allowed to pull 7 tonnes It is going to use it as a summer house in the orchard, the initial thoughts are for a craft studio although converting it into a pub sounds pretty good. (I brew beer and cider) I'm sure you can think of a few good names for the pub should I get approval.
(this image gets bigger if you click on it)
It should look like this in the end although the colours are a tad drab. I expect that it will be sage green and cream steel work.
Have you ever tried making cider from pear juice? Our chunker team captain has apple and pear trees on his property and built a small press to make cider and juice. The pear juice was especially lovely.
