This is my first attempt at making up the supports to level the VW beetle tail lights
The CNC Cutter may need an upgrade....

I've being following your build for a while now and i'm liking it a lot.
Just taught i'd chime in with a tip on how to level your lights a little easier.
Cover the area where the lights will be mounted with clingfilm or tinfoil, then spray on a generous helping of your expanding foam. when it's set you can carve it in place or pop it off to carve because the film/foil will stop it from sticking to the surface but it will now have the awkward curve allready formed on the back.
That brown shiney packing tape is also good to use as a masking to stop the foam from sticking to the surface.

Looking forward to the next instalment
Measure once, cut twice....throw away and repeat.

Thanks for the tip using clingfilm/packing tape etc. if what I've done fails (which is in the balance at the moment) i'll use your method.

The positive feedback is most welcome!
Thanks again

From the Td point of view its mundane handle turning: I'm wiring up plugs. I'm sure you don't want to see that video. :)

Also I started to body fill one of the vw light supports and if the works or fails ill let you know either way.

Sara, my wife, gets a new hip tomorrow and its her birthday next week so I've be focusing on other things.

Hip surgery went well, thanks for the thoughts and prayers.

I dropped Sara off at the hospital and had to wait 6 or 7 hours before I could see her so I had little choice but to do something on the teardrop.

I've binned my expanding foam idea and managed to get some off-cut polyurethane insulation from a building site, it's a no brainer and the difference is remarkable. Avoid using expanding foam if you can....

Grant, you first pronounced "hoof" the American way. Maybe that means you've been hanging around us too much.

At last I've been able to get some major work done on the TD
The external roof is on and I had to tack on the sides and wheel arches to get a feel of what the TD was going to look like and I'm delighted.
The external wall is now off again and I'm wiring like mad.

Thanks for the kind comments.

Sara is now walking around without crutches for short periods and reducing the meds. What a difference already. What did they do 50 years ago ... Just struggle I suppose.

Thanks again.
