Welcome to the forums.

That has a really nice shape to it. I can't wait to see it outside with the top up as well. My next one is going to be a PopUp teardrop as well. Keep us posted.

Looking good. Can't wait to see some pictures of the tip raised. Make sure you post some detailed pics of the hinge and locking solutions.

I started with a raised top design but ended with a drop floor semi=standy. When I get the Cedar Shack done I plan on making another tear with drop floor and raised roof for my daughters family to use.

Special hinge...............To allow roof hatch to pivot open for head height and ventilation.
Our trailer had to have a loose pin hinging or be separable for when hatch is removed. Why remove the hatch? Well, so when the trailer goes into the garage the extra 5 inches in height is critical. Also, I want to build a clip on full height lantern top later, which will also utilise the hinges. Also in summer I want topless camping. yes?

OMG its just a locking door deadbolt and the strap of a gate hinge....all non corrosive metal.

Pop shot

Postby Johnysteam » Mon Dec 09, 2013 8:15 pm

Slowly getting the ole girl finished.

I know people want to see the roof pop up, and this week I will wheel her out of the garage, and....pop the roof and take a shot or two for you.
At the moment Ive just had a very successful time with an electrician, and she is live. Yes, SHE!
Her name is "Crackling Rosie" now, because there's a lot of Kneeling going on inside this lil diamond.

Any ideas or tips are always appreciated!

Ahem! Does your wife know?

All kidding aside, if you want an open roof, you'll probably want some sort of mosquito netting up there.
