Well, got the initial trip under our belt, it was only an hour away and the Sonic pulled it with no problem..
The second trip I took the following weekend, just me and the dog....To an Ozark stream 2 1/2 hours away...I pulled it with my old truck....

Great job, love the scout in the canoe. Never hurts to have a lookout!

I just finished reading the thread and love the look of your tear. Like KC's comment regarding the fenders, I hope I may add a comment of my own. The rest of the trailer is so beautifully constructed and finished, is there any chance you could laminate wooden scales over the roof rack supports? I like the idea of having the rack for the Kayak (which also looks marvelous). From the pictures it just looks discordant to me to see bare shiny aluminum sandwiched between two glorious wooden masterpieces.

My opinion only, your mileage may vary, and I haven't seen it in person.

Hi There,

Congratulations on the build. Just read it through and love the swing out extra work spaces in particular. Great idea!

Nice photos! I too love the look out! Glad you are enjoying your new camper. I hope to get out more in September/October. August in California means the campgrounds are full!

And the swing out table needed a support leg ...So I took a leg off an old vhs camcorder tripod....

I made up a 6' X 10' tarp to bungee to the roof rack worked well in the rain....Just need to figure a way to join the tarp flap at the rear to an ez-up making a rain gutter between the two...
