So if 400 kg is your goal weight, then 600 would be better?

To keep things in check for a small TV you might want to start thinking lighter. Remember that the strength of the assembly is greater than any one part. Think airplane, not tank.

More often than not first time builders find that they have overbuilt (at least some aspect of their build) and wish that they had built lighter (that, building five wide instead of 4, and having a second side door).

I used angle iron not box section for my x beams.
So the three of them were lighter than the 2 box section beams.

I appreciate what you are saying. I hope to skeletonise my ply today. That is kinda scary because once it is gone, it is gone for good!

Go Felix Jr.
Cut the crap pot of that frame everyone I've seen do it says afterward they should have taken more.
Have a look at my last couple of pics and see how little frame I've used and it's strong as.its why I stopped there

You are right Dale, I was just thinking shelves and stuff (but hey it is a 4' wide TD there are going to be Fark all shelves anyway)
Do you guys paint your ceilings? i was thinking white/ cream to reflect light or am I overthinking things?

I used a white plastic sheet stuff. It brightens things up inside and makes it feel a lot bigger in there.

I'm undecided yet as mines wider than 1200 I'm having to run my sheets the other way so I'll have joins every 1200.
I've thought about using that super short pile marine carpet on the ceiling but not sure yet

Skeletonised my sides today!

I am unsure of bench hights in galley etc so have left some room for mockups

I will pick up foam insulation tomorrow! Also I will measure up drawbar based on my neighbours 8x4 trailer when he gets home from the dump. (It will be UNDER the trailer frame not over it like in the picture! 8) )

im a little worried about how tiny it is... but i'm guessing you arent 6'5" like me. Or maybe it just looks small from the pics. Time will tell. Will have to come see it when its done some time!

Looks good, nice shape  and you even have full head room
Did you weigh the bits you cut out (except the doors), be interesting to know how much you saved
With the draw bar, the more length you have between the axle and the coupling, the easier it is to manoeuvre.
Another thing to think about is to leave attaching the axle and springs to as late as you can, so that you can locate it in the best position to get your coupling weight where it should be. This is quite critical, especially towing with the Anglia. The shorter the wheel base on the TV the more likely it is for the trailer to push you around on the road.

Short drawbar realy such.
My utility trailers bars about 900 or so long and it's an absolute pig to back.its why I went with 1.6m

1.6m, thats massive... i was hoping to get away with 1m from tow ball to front of trailer, and then have an 8 foot trailer (with a 9' TD)
mainly trying to keep it from looking too big, as the car its being towed behind is smaller than an Anglia :P

Sorry for the hijack Glenn, i should really just start a build journal soon

Hijack is fine Neddles
Long drawbar is OK as you will have a box on the front?

Mines 2.7 long plus the draw bar = 4.3m long.
It's longish but the benefits to me out way the disadvantages.
1 is to short in my experience
