As for weight, Im unsure, light but strong. I think weight is less of an issue than I thought. I was just thinking of the anglias 997cc motor but I think of the loads I have had in her in the past and she did OK a small tear will still weigh less than 4 adults and dive gear hahahaha

I saw that you were asking Jeff about alloy trim. I had the same question from Ned the other day. This is the peply I put on my build journal.

I assume the molding you are referring to is what I have covering the join between roof and sides. It is unequal angle alloy, we got it from Ullrich Aluminium , part No. UA1093 1.6x25x12x5m. I used it all the way around the roof and the hatch.

I also used UA1731 1.6X20X12X5M around the inner liner on the hatch. This had three uses 1), to protect the edge of the liner, 2), to have a tidy finish along the edge of the liner, 3), to created a drip line for any water that gets in that far and direct it into the channel down the inside of the walls. I also used UA1534 22X10 down the back edges of the walls under where the hatch closes. I put one each side and over lapped them. I wanted to use a U section there but they are all deeper than they are wide and that wouldn't have bent around the curve and would have looked too heavy if it had. They come in 5m lengths and at the time were about $12 - $14 +gst per length.
The channel I used in the galley is UA1410 drip mould 22mm comes in a 4m length.

Couldn't find Hurricane hinge in NZ and didn't want to risk damage possibilities of shipping from overseas. I got three big stainless steel hinges from Bunnings, and with the alloy trims have a narrow gap with a foam weather seal. The hatch overlaps the walls down the sides and I have the foam seal down there as well. 
Should any water get past there I have a ledge across below the hinges and the drain channels down the sides. We haven't had any issues with water getting in to the galley either camped or on the road.

I just looked at the photo of your wheel. Did that get balanced when the tyre was fitted?

I used to own a tyre shop, whoever balanced that should be shot. I would guess it has a 40 + 30 one side and a 40 + 25 on the other. If that is the case, they should all come off and be replaced by a single 5g. I used to regularly see wheels come in with weights spread all around.

yes I asked him about that and he said it was because the wheel was buckled

$22 for a tyre including fitting and 'balancing'

I will jam them on my anglia one at a time and see how they fit and if there is wobble get him to try again.
(there are as many weight on the other side of the rim too)

Not much to report except I was driving down the road while on holiday with my family (Kaikoura for those of you know NZ)
And there was something on the road - A welding helmet! :shock:

Quick U turn and drag race with another young fella and I had a new auto darkening helmet

Ordered the steel to make my trailer today.
some 40mm x 40mm box section
40mm angle iron
75x35 box
50x50 box

Will be making sparks by the end of the week (my first trailer build)
with the help of my friendly WOF inspector and amazing welder

Frank there will be in depth pictures so you guys can give me advice as I have NEVER seen a TD in the flesh (just like you) - when you were building yours.

I am quite excited as I have never built anything like this. Mrs Felixx thinks I am mad :R
