Post of things I DIDNT like as much

Spa sensations 4" memory foam mattress.
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Spa-Sensation ... es/4569413
Wish I'd gone with the 6". Depending on how I lay on it, I can feel the floor underneath me. I think the 6" would have been more comfortable.

Tongue jack
http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/ ... _200631762
Dont like how this mounts. I wish I could have found a better option. I may have one welded onto the tongue later.

"Stainless" steel pull down latches
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JR3PBTQ
Yeah stainless is in quotes there for a reason. This will be replaced sooner than later once I find something else that will hopefully use the same holes.

You may be able to save those SS latches if they got a little rusty. (Remember it is "stain-less" not rust free; some grades of SS just don't do well when exposed to the weather, especially salt.)

Scrub them up with a greenie pad to remove the rust; wash and rinse well to remove any oil from fingers, etc.; cook them for 1/2 hour at 150 deg F in a 10/ct citric acid solution; rinse well but don't touch (no oil from hands) and allow them to sit dry in open air for 3 days. They are now passivated and will be less reactive to exposure. Citric powder is usually available in the canning section of the grocery or hardware store.

I'll give that a shot. In this case it seems the pin in them is actually whats rusting, and I suspect parts of them may be stainless, and parts may not.

No particular salt was applied in this case, outside whatever is on my skin due to perspiration, but I'm pretty certain I didnt get any of that on the hing pin :-)

I'm debating on doing an actual full write up on my 12v power. When I was doing my research I had a ton of open questions that I couldnt seem to solve until I had my hands on the actual components, and I bet it would make some people feel better to have a good solid write up/step by step to see.

I really like how my electrical worked out, its all nice, clean, and very effective

Even if the pin isn't plain steel, it may likely be 17-4PH SS, which will rust. It is often used for that type of thing because it is harder and stronger than the alloys that have more nickel.

Last post on this thread for a while (I suspect) but I just got a weight on the finished trailer yesterday

With a half full cooler (coming home) but otherwise loaded for war, smiles to go weighs in at 860lbs

Had her out on a brisk overnight (overnight low was 41F) but we're now right about 1000 miles on her since the "Good enough" point.

Near future upgrades
1. Better mattress for kid bunk
2. Bed railing for kid bunk
3. 110 power for the cabin (to allow us to install a small electric space heater)

Thanks, getting her dusted off for another year right now.

Will probably make some updates to this post with the stuff we're doing once I have a decent number of items to add
