Update #17
7-12-16

Minor update I am going to be able to finish it when I originally planned hopefully this weekend :-)

Today I received my aluminum trim for the hatch, and walls , I also received my hatch latches. I tested the hatch trim and the hatch was just a bit to wide so I had to do the painstakingly terrifying task of trimming about 1/2" off of the side of the hatch , I ran the whole hatch through the table saw it worked great but it was so sketchy I had my wife hold one end as I pushed it through..now it fits perfectly with the trim. I also wanted to come up with something to hold up the hatch when it's open and I didn't want to use the gas struts so for now I am just using two 1x2s with notches cut in them . Tonight I was able to get the fenders painted up and I should be able to get those mocked up soon ..I still need to finish the hatxh by adding some thick plywood along the bottom flat part to mount the taillights and latch to that will hopefully strengthen it up a bit

Update #18
7-16-16

Today I had a bunch of stuff planned to get done, I have all my materials needed to finish the TD and the wife was out of town so I just went to work and completed everything except installing the aluminum skin

First thing I did was remove the wheel so I could paint them and also paint the trailer with what is called "The Mix" I'm sure most of you know what that is and then just polyurethane by itself I did 3 coats
Image

Here is where I couldn't do a whole lot since everything was drying I had to just wait for a bit..you can see I painted the wheels black as well
Image

I was a little unsure of what to use for the bottom trim but I found some 8' aluminum angle and I think it's going to work perfectly I'm going to be bolting it through the siding and into the frame of the trailer using stainless hardware with one 1/4"x20 carriage bolt every 12"
Image

This is where she sits right now the fenders are jist temporarily mounted just to get the feel of where I want them I think the black wheels and fenders look great I'm so happy with how it's turning out ..to mount the fenders I just made some L brackets out of some steel flat bar I got at Lowe's it was cheaper than buying 2 sets of fender brackets from an online retailer
Image
Let me know what you think.

Hopefully it will be finished enough to camp in by tomorrow evening and our first camping trip is in one week from yesterday so ive got a deadline now lol

Update #19
7-17-16

So today my goal was to get the aluminum siding on and I was able to get the hatch skinned as well as the driver side but then the weather picked up and there was thunder and lightning and I had to put it away for the night..my local metal shop where I purchased the aluminum didnt sell it with plastic wrap on it so I had to be very careful not to scratch it but it did get alot of finger prints but those will come off once its all done . . tomorrow I am going to be getting the other side on and then wire up the lights and we should be good to go
