That's the same boat I am in. I wanted flat top fenders, but the Jeep style is a little peaky. With 31 inch AT's and generous side wall clearance to the cabin, the 10 inch width has to be spaced out from the cabin wall to just barely cover the tread.

I thought about buying a third fender, sectioning all of them to make them wider, and then modifying them to stretch, as you did, but that is as much, if not more work than just starting from scratch; probably more expensive in the end, and likely harder to make come out nice dealing with warping and blending all the welds.

Love watching your progress. I don't think I saw this mentioned earlier ... but why the extra-long tongue? Most tongues range from 36 to 48 inches ... and I think yours is a fair bit longer. Just curious :)

Those are really nice! I like the tapered front and rear. I think I can do it a little lighter, tho. With access to a break press for forming the curled lip I can omit the tubing. Will do mine in aluminum. May not be as robust, but will suit my needs just fine. I might just steal that guy's look, tho. I like it. Thanks for posting.

I am going to build a 48 inch wide by 24 inch long box on the front, which is a fairly good size box. It will have 2 compartments (top/bottom). The bottom compartment will be 18inches tall. The door will be able to open forward to lay flat on the tongue (will come just short of the trailer jack). I wanted easy access to my generator, climate right, ect... The top will house all of my electronics and battery.

I looked up the dimensions/weight for all of the items I want to have in the trailer including 12v freezer in galley ect. Took the trailer balance spreadsheet added the weight in the appropriate places. Which gave me a heavy tongue, so I adjusted the timbren axles up 2 inches and that gave me my 12-13% tongue weight.

Hopefully the tongue won't look so long and naked when completed.

My overall goal was to have a trailer that I can do some decent off roading and boondocking in. Make a base camp to do some day hiking or even a multi day trip then return. The trailer will probably end up being a little on the heavy side but hopefully will do most of I need.

Those suckers are definitely on there. I will have to head to Dallas to get some 5x10 sheets of plywood. Couldn't find any here in Oklahoma City. Will be doing that on Veterans day. So next weekend I will wire the jeep up for the 7 plug.

If you dont mind me asking.....Where did you get your Plywood from in Dallas? I work in Dallas and hopefully will be starting my TD next year.

They are located in Fort Worth. They had everything I needed in stock. Walked in gave them my list. They put it all together, bound it, and loaded it on my trailer with a fork lift. Only took about 30 minutes.

The trailer looks really nice, what are the extra receivers for on the the front? If the rest of the project looks like the trailer its going to look awesome!

I put those there for a detachable Climateright Air Conditioning mount or a solar panel/pole mount (I don't want to mount my panels on the roof). Just thought it was something I would try. If I don't like how that works out I can either leave them there or get a grinder and cut them off. Figured it was best to put them on while I was building the trailer.

I am actually debating getting the flexible solar panels and storing them on the interior on my galley hatch.

Cool, you could always find other uses for those it doesn't hurt to leave them there.

I decided to start a youtube series of my build as well. So if you see a better way to do something or have a question let me know. Experience/knowledge is always helpful.
