Had to build a new motor for my Buggy, sold the old one.. TT has been sitting in the back yard getting rained on, so far so good. Painted the rear doors and part of the inside before they get mildewed more. (been raining a lot) Want to get this guy done and take it out, but going up WA way to visit Yellowstone and then family for two weeks, come back and swap transmissions in my TV, then swap heads on my wife's LeMans. ....then get to finish it, hopefully in time for Fall camping weather in TX. Wanna go to Palo Duro Canyon.. Are they tear Drop friendly? Always the Houston Ren Fest in Oct.. Anybody else on here go to RenFests? they are fun times and low stress

Gonna turn my rear below floor storage into an ice chest, Camping last weekend in the Texas warmth made it rise up the priority list , I will make over head storage to compensate

Finally found my window solution, bought some premade and installed, this was my last engineering hurdle. Now just to make and install the shutters to close over the windows for road protection, The back opening is my mini gallery, will have a drop down table and shutters over it, just enough stuff to make coffee and cook something simple. Main cooking will be on a grill/ campfire etc.

Almost completed my 12 volt power center, I have shore power for when 110 volt. Wanted something in a box that I could take out and use other places, so I built it in an old cigar type box that I PL'd some reinforcements and dividers, cheapie 3 stage solar controller, seems to be fine so far anyway, line leading through floor vent to solar panel. Still need to put a fuse on + battery side, waiting on fuse holder.
Went camping in back yard to make the first test. Still have to wire lights and build my shutters to go over windows and wife needs to make curtains, but very happy with how it is turning out. I wanted something retro/ inexspensive with a few modern touches, think I got it

Major milestone today, first trip around the block. Still lots to do, mount Solar panels/ redo a few things/ Paint graphics on sides / finish interior/, but it is camp-able. Bought a mount to put a table on side. Has 110 and 12 volt power.
Wife wanted an old school looking camper so all wood and a "gypsy" look. ImageImageImage

Another note. Including the trailer I have about 1500.00 into it, and many hours of time... Just as a reference for the builders who want to go the inexpensive route. The little things really add up , hardware, glue etc...

Finished this guy about 18 months ago, hauled it 2000 miles to Mt from TX, Lived in it the first summer while I gutted and rebuilt my house, been on 4 or 5 camping trips this year. It has held up well, even spent last winter outsdoors uncovered. Repainted it this summer.
Loving the tiny trailer life! small tent is portable toilet.

I just found your unique build and it sure is lovely!

Your design, styling, decor and details are truly something special.

You've really captured the perfect classic camper, '1950's modern', futuristic aspects and they just look so right.

Speaking as a former workshop owner and professional mechanic, that engine and transmission installation on your Volvo was very, very impressive!
