Hastings, Nebraska...

We've got one lumberyard in my little town. They'll order a dozen sheets of 1/8" Baltic without a blink.

You might ask your local yards if they can order it for you. I'll betcha a camp beer one of them can.

What was the length of your inner ceiling piece?
I'm gonna order plywood tomorrow for it and I want to make darn sure I get plenty. I'm going to do a rough measurement tomorrow and hopefully over estimate a little.
Also did you cut the galley sides before or after skinning the exterior?

Is this a memory test? :frightened:

About 126". Maybe 124". I had to do two splices. Two full sheets and a... four or six-inch chunk if I recall. :NC

Use that short-chunk splice as a practice. It'll be hidden under the headboard.

I just now found out that the local lumber yard in Frederick, MD (the one that stocks cabinet grade lumber) carries BB in 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 3/4, and 1". They can also get Okoume and some of the other harder to get marine plywoods.

What seems hard to get is 4x8 sheets of BB.

Their BB stock/prices are the following:
Plywood 1/8 1/4 3/8 1/2 5/8 3/4
Baltic Birch 5x5 23.00 30.00 34.00 40.00 49.00 59.00
Baltic Birch 4x8 52.00 69.00

No idea if those are good but Id love to know.

It should be noted that he said there seems to be a shortage of BB starting. It's getting harder to get.
