Looking very nice. Good work on the cabinet doors.
I always have a little trouble getting even spacing
on them.

Great looking build!
Is that a custom door frame? Where did you find it?

it's a standard doorframe for campers and caravans. bought it at https://www.gobanna.nl/shop/Gobanna-carrosserie/77/Garagedeur-rechts-650x900.php

Last week worked on the cabinets inside, the lighting and usb connections.
The storage box is placed on the A-frame.
The solar panel is mounted with double-sided tape and caulk around the sides.
Started with the kitchen, thanks to Ikea.

Re: Morning Star 10 amp module

Postby noseoil » Fri Dec 20, 2019 8:56 am

Looks like it's getting ready for a trip very soon! Beautiful build, excellent detailing & very polished look now, I love it. That trailer should go a million Km without any problem, just a few tires & a battery once in a while...

One thing I changed when our trailer was "finished" was the charging module. My concern was that the one supplied with the solar panel kit we bought wasn't really that good for an AGM battery. I sent for a new Morning Star 10 amp module after reading a bit about them in general. We were living in a very hot climate (you won't have to worry about that where you live) & the charge rate was not regulated to the temperature in the battery compartment (under the galley counter it could get very hot in the sun during summer months). I was concerned with the charge rate of an AGM battery, so it was basically just a swap for the new controller. I can't say it would have actually been a problem, but I wanted a better system, so the new charge module was added to help protect the battery. You might want to see about the Morning Star module, just to see how it charges compared to the one you have. I'm not sure it's worth the extra cost, but it's worth a look since you are doing a quality build. It would mean drilling some new holes.

I'll keep in mind next summer when temperature is rising. Thanks for advice and reply.

Last week started with the galley hatch. Worked as accurately as possible to get a good fit.
Next steps: install wiring, test the lights and cover the inside with bending plywood.

We have a Morningstar SunSaver MPPT, at the time it was the only controller that would accommodate the high voltage solar panel, 70 V open circuit. It has been working well for more than ten years and the original 150AH AGM was just retired (still being used) at ten years.
Looking forward to your camping trips.

The gas springs are placed and works great, with little pressure open and closed.
Lighting and refelectors placed and the kitchen completed.
The to-do list is getting smaller and smaller.

Nice to see the list getting smaller, not larger! Looks like camping this summer will be a wonderful experience for both of you. Where is the first trip for your maiden voyage & sea trials going to be?

I've been enjoying your craftsmanship.

How far did you have to go to find your hurricane hinge?
