This build sounds super complicated.... I like it. I'll follow along.

It is pretty complicated but some of what is complicated isn't really so hard I think. I guess we'll see as I get things in.

The kitchen is now in one of the pullouts minus a stove and microwave. The reason the stove and microwave aren't in the same pullout is unfortunately because of height limitations. The whole thing needs to be under 7' to go under the garage door and that means the height for the trailer will be something like this:
12.5" to trailer deck
.75" flooring
3" slide system
.75 flooring

So already we're looking at about 17" for just the slide system.

Since we have 17' total that gives us only about 64"' to work with because I need about 3" for the roof.

Counters are commonly set at 36" high and it's recommended to have 16" between your range and the microwave. The installation directions for the microwaves says you need 66" from the floor to the top of the microwave so they're actually figuring 14" of space over the range.

So there's the problem there... 36(counter) + 14(space) + 16(microwave) = 66" and that's without even space for somewhere to get power to the microwave.

So I can either move the microwave elsewhere or I can lower the counter. I'm not totally opposed to lowering the counter 2" but I want to see how this is once it's in place to see if my measurements are right.

You maybe don't have these "down south" where you are but up here in the frozen tundra there is a lot of ice fishing going on and in recent decades guys have been building campers with retractable wheels for use as fishing shacks. You lower the wheels (raise the camper) to drive down the road, then when you get to the lake you raise the wheels to drop the floor of the camper right down onto the ice. There are holes in the floor so you can drill holes in the ice to fish right from the comfort of the camper. In your situation this would allow you to drop the frame to a couple inches off the ground and sneak it into the garage. You already ordered your suspension but you won't have an axle so maybe you could still engineer a mount to make something like this happen...

Here's a picture of one of these ice campers.

I haven't figured out how to do the lowering axle yet but if I can figure it out then I'm TOTALLY game as it would be a major game changer for me.

For a lowering suspension I'd figure something like attaching it into a hinged plate that has a worm gear, so when driving you have a safety bolt keeping it secure but when you park you'd have a crank to assist in moving it? It would complicate your floorplan a bit

Started the welding!

Right now I just welded the box section of the frame together. The little bit that sticks out on the end is to add a bumper to make attaching lights easier.

The black thing hanging down in the garage is a kayak hoist that I'm repurposing for turning over the frame as needed. :)

Mostly it's so I can lower it gently though.

Been pulling some heat from the wife on this build because my spending is already at 14k. :-D

I assured her that I'm almost done spending money I don't have. :-P

Took some time off the build of the trailer to build a fence around our property and I did the work myself to have more money towards the trailer.

Yesterday I got the Timbren axles installed on it.

Tonight I got the electric brake hubs mounted to the axles.

Tomorrow I should be able to tighten down the castle nuts and then put the wheels on it.

How in the heck do you flip a trailer over that has wheels on it? Should I just weld the tongue on upside down?

Got the wheels on the trailer yesterday.

I'm going to start a new thread about how to install the Timbren axles because they weren't easy and I think people here could benefit from a thread that sums it up.

The frame is almost done. Just have some cross members to add to make it stronger and I need to finish an under the floor water tank storage box then paint it.

It won’t let me add a pic tonight.

Got the trailer registered on Friday! It's a temporary registration for Maryland and I have a safety inspection on Tuesday at 8am.

I've been spending today painting the trailer with rustoleum rust remover:

And then I've been painting black beauty onto one side of the 3/4" subfloor:

Ordered 5 gallons of 3M 1357 Contact Cement today. It's similar to Stabond E-183 and is foam safe.

Figured out i should add some extra bracing for the pullout slides so i pulled up the floor and added it. I feel comfortable now that theyll hold at least 500 lbs and probably far more. When i put the floor back down i glued it before screwing it.

Will try to start adding more pics of the slideout process soon.

Still waiting on the glue.ugh
