That’s so awesome.

As someone who is married to a quilter too, I can appreciate how much work and skill it takes to put something like that together. Plus it’s beautiful and perfect for the camper!

That's the crazy part, she cranked it out in a week or so. I wish I could build campers as fast as she quilts.

Re: aVANger Build - Safety First!

Postby bdosborn » Thu Apr 27, 2023 12:21 pm

I've had this idea for a plexiglass safety shield bouncing around for a year or so and I finally got it done today. Safety first I always say:

Nope. Needs more warning signs! How about

"DANGER, do not put your hands through the Plexiglas!"

"Caution, edges of broken Plexiglas are sharp; if Plexiglass is broken, do not touch edges."

"Do not eat the Plexiglas (may contain peanuts)"

"WARNING, Plexiglas is known to the State of California to cause CANCER! Do not go near the Plexiglas when the van is in California."

Looks great Bruce!

I took a class in an Air Force lab some 40 years ago, and there was a large bus bar behind some protective screen. The warning label indicated it carried 26 amps at 3 volts. I was tempted to put my finger through the screen because 3 volts shouldn't hurt, and the 26 amps shouldn't go through me! But I never did. Maybe someone got the sign wrong. :FNP

That plexiglass shield looks great ... I like the way you attached it with the standoffs!

Those seem like good ones to me, I'll get on that.

Thanks! I put heat shrink tubing on the standoffs, now it looks insulated.

Re: aVANger Build Fancy Faucet

Postby bdosborn » Sat Apr 29, 2023 9:22 pm

I started up the sink for the first time today, no leaks to the faucet but a leak in the drain line. It's been so long since I bought the faucet I kinda forgot that there's a light in it that turns colors with temperature. Isn't that nifty!

A significant upgrade would be to wire in some kind of device to make the light blink to the beat of the disco music.

I took your advise and added a safety sticker to the plexiglass. I also insulated the stand offs with heat shrink, just because I thought it would look cool:

I used leftover pieces of plexiglass to add some covers to the batteries but I'm out of safety stickers. I'll have to look around for some more:
