Do you still have the drawings you did of the Raven? It was one of my favorites. Yours was an Americanized version wasn't it?

I'll have to go looking for that...

There's some modified midget screenshots in this thread...

Here's a bottom view of the Raven model I did. It has a H.F. Trailer with a torsion axle on it.

I had forgotten how small the Raven Argonette was... The average person can not stand in it...

Stretching it out to 10 ft helps a lot...

People were pretty short back then. 8)

The photo with the woman sitting by the trailer really gives perspective to how small that trailer was :o

Yep on the short... :duh:

The tab has a 69" headroom. So I guess a Raven Argonette with 69" headroom would be fairly Americanized!!!

With Model A 19" wheels, torsion 1/2 axles with 10 degree start angle and a dropped floor leaving 8" of road clearance there could be lottsa (I wonder how much?) head room, and still fit under a standard 7' garage door.

What is the actually clearance under a 7' garage door, in inches, without unlatching the door from the automatic garage door opener?

What's the O.D. of those 19" wheels?

The 19" wheels with tires have a height of 29". Garage door opener heights and garage door openings may vary. I measured my garage door opening about 15 times while building the gypsy trailer. Measured again just now, 82.5" the door goes above the opening by 4" or so when opened. The open stop limit can be adjusted to stop with the door above the door frame.

I had to add 2011 to the title, to distinguish it from the older thread with the same title!!! :o

We are starting to repeat ourselves.

There is another Raven thread somewhere in between the two.

Ever since I saw this profile, I can't get it out of my head.

I especially like the drawings Andrew did of the Raven with the canted front and rear sections (although that detail would be a bear to build.) I envision the sides and portions of front and rear being a woody, with an aluminum or EPDM roof.

I've been given marching orders that #2 will have to incorporate a bathroom (potty in a separate "room" and prefereably a shower). If I can fit that in a stretched version of the Raven, then maybe that is what I will build.

I wonder what a set of wire wheels goes for these days?
