Yesterday I picked up a furnace, range/oven and a Thermix wall heater.

The furnace is one that Suburban recalled so I might have bought a pile of parts and not a useable furnace. Next week I'll get into it and see if it had the recall fixed.

The 4 burner range/oven look useable. Cleaning will happen.

In the pile of extras there is a Thermix wall heater that looks like this:

What are the specs on the unit? BTU output?

If there is enough output I might go with the Thermix rather than the furnace. No electrical use and quiet. It might not put out as much heat in the volume that a furnace would but on of my design criteria is simple and repairable.

You posted this question sometime ago, and I see no answers so far. The Thermix heater will work as far as putting out heat, but it won't put out as much as most furnaces. The good thing about a Thermix is that it doesn't need any electrical power to work like a furnace does. That means when you are stuck out in the Pucker Brush and there are no generators in the middle of the night and no power outlets, it will still heat your camper. One draw back is you need to have a vent open if you want to be assured of waking up in the morning. The furnace vents all exhaust outside (usually), but it does require a 12 DC power supply if it is the forced air kind of furnace that uses a fan. Help this helps answer your question.

You confirmed what I've found out. Time will tell if it puts out enough heat for my camper. I've been trying to find out what the btu output is for this one

When the time comes I'll install low oxygen, CO and fire alarms.

likely around 3000 btu, should heat a 14 ft 8 wide trailer.
