Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Does anybody use a Bbq instead of a stove in their trailer as I can't seem to find a stove and was thinking a Bbq might work

If you want to get dead quick, a BBQ with charcoal inside the trailer will do it...

A gas BBQ is safer, but isn't designed for zero, or very tight clearances=fire.

There are plenty of new and used safe propane stoves on E bay, craigslist, and at dealers, just do a general Internet search.

My Smokey Joe Junior goes with us almost every outing. You can broil grill and even boil on it . Remove the 2 wire racks and drop in a 12" dutch oven and you have a table top dutch oven stand with built in wind break . Now have your oven as well.







As Rob says Use in a well ventilated area. Carbon Monoxide Kills !

I've brought my BGE, but it's heavy and fragile. If I could get a smaller one it'd ideal.

I usually go to Ebay but thought that I'd like to actually see the stove or burner that I'm going to buy and I live in a 1 horse town the nearest town is about 3 hours away but we do have a home hardware here and they had Bbq's so I thought maybe that could work but I'd rather not wake up dead

I use a bbq that looks like a tool box. Small, but big enough to cook a flank steak for a potluck. I got it at camping world.

Of course not

A BBQ is great for cooking outside, but as you asked about one inside, it had to be mentioned...

The gas side burner on propane grills could be adapted to work, but an inexpensive one or two burner propane stove can be had pretty cheap, and has already been designed and tested to be safe for indoor use.

If you just have to put your hands on one first, maybe if you plan a vacation to attend a teardrop gathering you can see many options, it may also help you decide just what it is you want to build.
Of course there is always the danger of information overload...
Sometimes more choices aren't as good as there just isn't any realistic way to incorporate all the neat ideas out there into one trailer...

I use a Coleman grill stove. It's propane, has a mid sized grill and a single burner for a pot, etc. I've also got the optional griddle for it. It will fit on my countertop, but I usually use it on a table. Picked it up on sale at Canadian Tire.

We have both a three burner SS cook top and a small gas BBQ. The gas grill has 8' hose that plugs into a Bullfrog gas point in the rear of CR. A gas grill would be difficult to control (fine heat adjustment) and wasteful of propane. There are any number of gas portable one or two burner stoves all of which can be plumbed to work from a larger propane tank.
We used the grill a number of times on our trip west once for shiskabobs (meal on a stick) and the other times for steaks. One of the tasks for next year is finding a grill bag.

A little off topic but Bruce what did you use for your shovel mount on there looks like a nice clean set up you have

I had one of those on our boat. The thin SS mesh would rot away. We used to BBQ in thirty knot winds though, ha.
