Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Forgive me if this has been asked numerous times, but I can't seem to find a clear answer.
I have a 20 lb propane tank mounted on the tongue. I want to run a ridged pipe back maybe about 6 ft under the trailer then up through the floor to a valve and short flexible hose to a stove. The stove is unregulated and needs 11"WC pressure. What kind of regulator do I need at the tank, single or double stage? Thanks!

Your stove probably doesn't need 11PSI pressure, it probably needs 11"WC pressure (11 inches of water column). The latter is standard for RV and trailer stoves. You can most likely find a replacement regulator at VintageTrailerSupply.com

Hope I can help Cindy, what you need is 11 inches not pounds of pressure, and just a standard propane regulator to fit your tank with a short hose to the pipe and a short hose and valve if you wish at the stove end. Most propane stoves will operate with 7 to 11 inches of water column and you want to regulate at the propane tank so you do not have 100 psi under and traveling the length of your trailer. 1/2" pipe is more than sufficient for your stove and will be about the cheapest to run and adapt to..........Larry

Sorry, I did know that it is 11 " WC. I had a brain freeze when I wrote lbs.

My confusion comes with the RV regulation on having a two stage regulator connected to ridged pipe, but others say single stage is ok.

A 2 stage regulator is more commonly used where you have an extreme distance from the tank to the point of usage....basically it will break your roughly 100 psi tank pressure down to say 2-5 lbs and then a second regulator at point of usage (stove) will break it down to inches of water column.
A single stage regulator at your tank will do just fine.

I went with a 2 stage regulator and 3/8" flexible copper line to the galley.
I wasn't sure the difference it would make, but I opted for 2 stage since it wasn't much more expensive.

The merit of the two-stage comes when you have multiple appliances with different rates of consumption turning on and off at different times. The two-stage keeps a much more even flow when these events occur.
