I just have 2 burners, cause I wanted the camp chef oven, and it came with 2. There are times when both are full and a third would be nice, but most of the 3 burner stoves have them so close together I'm not sure you can really use them as 3 burners. I pretty much never need more than two burners. Most of the time it's just one but that really depends on how you cook. Camp chef two burner is my go to, although I've been looking at one of those single burner butane ones posted above. I foeget the manufacturer, but somebody makes those that run on either butane or propane.

If you have an Asian market you can find those butane single burner stoves cheap. And the butane fuel is so much cheaper than anyplace online. I have also seen them in double burner stoves. Great little stoves, but they struggle above 11'000 feet.

Can attest to that. A few months ago, a representative at Partner Steel told me their burner is 27 PSI. For reference, the low-pressure side of an RV propane system (11 WC inches) is roughly 0.5 PSI. I think the typical "Coleman" camping stove runs at 10-15 PSI (don't quote me on that). So, just to make that clear: Almost no stock camping stove will run properly connected to a low-pressure propane system. Most have a built-in pressure regulator and must be connected to a high-pressure source (tank or quick-connect fitting), which IS a safety concern. Thankfully, since most cooking in a teardrop takes place outdoors, the safety risk is mitigated.

I use a two stage regulator and it feeds a gas grill, three burner cook top and a 6gal water heater. "The outlet pressure is 11"WC and has a 160,000 BTU/hr capacity."

I have both 2 & 3 burner Coleman white gas.
Last 5 years I have only used the 2 burner stove.
It's lighter and takes up less space.
Last, think about how often you use 3 burners at the same time at home?

Camp Chef everest two burner with oven. Thats my fave.. Failry affordable and very well built and most of all.... it is reliable!

I have always loved this stove. Bought my first when it was just a Mexican stove.
