Bluetooth Propane tank monitor

I really like having an 11-pound tank (vs the one-pound tanks we used on our old teardrop). We use it for both the cookstove and heater, but the question is how to check the level without taking it off and weighing it?

I found a $35 device that sticks on the bottom of the tank with magnets. You can adjust the settings for the height of the tank. There's an app for your phone and here's the readout after ten nights:

Here's the link to it:

I saw a review on YouTube for that sensor and added it to my Amazon list. I'll pull the trigger when the propane store wont fill my fiberglass tank anymore.

How does that work (what's the principle behind it)?

Thanks,
Mike

Good question. There's a sensor that makes contact with the bottom of the tank. It comes with dielectric grease to apply to the sensor. Somebody mentioned the word, sonic. But I don't know.

Perhaps somebody else will chime in.

It obviously uses a PFM sensor. Duh.

There's a sensor for poor man's fiberglass?

(Bruce: I was hoping you'd step up and answer this one. Now I'm gonna have to Google that one up.)
