The stays I saw in a video of old Esterel caravan assembly where having a thumb screw to fix at any window angle. The action is similar to telescoping tripod leg, but on a smaller scale.

OP827, I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner. The polycarbonate sunshade/rockguard window on my Airstream is held up by two simple struts. They consist of an aluminum bar (~1/2" x 1/4" x 18") that telescopes into a C-channel extrusion. The bar is tapped at one end to accept a thumbscrew which is tightened to hold the window open.

Yes Bob, that is the same design idea (telescopic) that I saw in older trailers and eurovision windows, just a different implementation. With window pane thinner than wall, there should be enough space for the stay behind the screen. In eurovision design they have the screen and blind as a separate unit fixed behind the window on the wall. The screen or blind can be opened to access the window and stays. I am thinking of screen and blind options to make an access to the stays. I am still in design phase for my custom windows. Thanks for sharing the information
