Nothing like starting with a vision of the end in mind!!! :D

Actually, this is how I came up with it...

Aug 29 & 30
Canvas Doors and Hatch

Aug 22 & 23
Build Doors and Hatch

Aug 15 & 16
Canvas Body

Aug 8 & 9
Assemble remaining body

Aug 1 & 2
Glue up walls and spars

Sounds easy, right? Alas, anyone who has built one knows I am missing a whole lot of details!

Mike, I can never accurately predict how long something will take; you need lots of experience doing things over and over (that I don't have) to be a good judge of that. You have a better idea of how doable it is than all us 'never done it before types'.

Most of us always spend so much time setting up and taking down the staging and prep for certain construction step knowing that this is not getting the job done. Having a plan always helps, so you have that going for you as well :)

Looks like it fits pretty well

Hey Mike, do you sand smooth that CNC router pattern or does the canvas cover it without showing through ? I don't recall what weight canvas you bought & could not find it mentioned.

Always wear your respirator and do a good job cleaning up with the shop vac afterward. That stuff goes everywhere.

Foam Dust is nasty stuff ... gets EVERYWHERE... :o Beaded foam beads stick to you and everything else ... I had that “snow" around my yard for months ... :duh:

Two components to foam .... Plastic and Air .... the only thing that sands is the plastic , and you don’t want to breath Plastic , now do we ... :frightened:

Well, we're driving home from work, and Chell says she has tomorrow off! Instantly I got jealous. Geesh, if I were off too, we could work on the foamie teardrop. So I took the day off, and we are going to do a 3 day build blizzard!

So we got home, and first thing we did was glue in the window panel...

Tomorrow I'm hoping to glue in the panel on each side of the fantastic fan, and the lower panel under the window panel.

Then I imagine we'll pull up a chair and stare at the foamie for a while...

After that? Who knows, maybe we'll start the hatch???
