Posted: Mon Aug 27, 2018 10:34 amI am planning a similar vent, although more complicated. I was going to run tubing down from a plenum under the kitchen cabinets and use a computer fan to draw the cool air in from underneath.

WE’d planned on some floor vents made of Stainless steel sink strainers and some foam corks for them .. That way cool air could enter on the floor and hot air could go out the highest vent ( a chimney effect, sorta’ ) Critters couldn’t get in , but air could ...
My first (commercially built) teardrop had two 4" vents in the galley with a computer fan in the bulkhead. We'd open both square-foot door windows and turn the fan on. It wasn't nearly enough. It was one of those issues that flipped me into the DIY mode.
When it's warm, you really really need to move some air.
None of the three roof-vent fans that I have installed leak. Nor should they.
