Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

I have been working on my motorcycle foamie for the last couple of days, and it's starting to take shape. Have been spreading tb and streching canvas for two days and it is a royal pain in the rear. lol I think it turned out fairly nice for a first time newbie. Working on the door frames now, so I can put canvas on the sides. Wonder if I could get the wife to do it? Got four more days off work to try and get it towable. would like to get the outside done before it gets cold again. Well here are the pics of my progress.

yes the canvas makes a whole lot of difference in the look of the trailer. I took a look at your build, and it seems you had a lot more work involved, than I do. I might get that ambitious on day. Thanks for the shout bonnie.

Not sure whether it was ambition or ignorance. I'm having a lot of fun figuring out how to make it work, though.

Wow great job, You are pulling this with your motorcycle- not putting your bike inside of it...is there a way to find out how much you can pull with a bike?

Hi Droid, My bike can pull quite a bit. we just recently rode a 1300 mile round trip to north carolina , to camp and ride the dragon. I pulled my cargo trailer with all our camping gear, and it was loaded down. I don't think my camper is as heavy as my cargo trailer loaded, but it is a little larger so I may have a little more wind drag, but hopefully not to much. the commercial motor cycle tent campers weigh in at 350 to 500 lbs. I am guessing mine is below the 350 weight. I figure the frame and axle weighed in about 100 lbs. and I have not added more than about a 100 lbs. give or take, so it is still very light. And the great part is I won't have to unload the trailer, put up the tent, air up the matress and then repeat the process to pack it up. Just park, level and plug in the power. Ready to camp. I really like the foamie trailers and the ease of building.I have a 16 foot boat trailer in the yard just beggin for a foam standy, but that will be a truck pulled camper only.

hi D1, I have seen that video before, and believe it or not the Goldwing bikes are used quite a bit as tow vehicles in other countries. They have a powerful opposed six clynder engine that is near bullet proof. Smooth running comfortable touring bike. These are some of the reasons I chose to buy this bike. It is a pure delight to ride and great for towing my foamie camper.

Got the passenger side door on and some paint. still need to get the driver side door built and put on. also need to make a couple galley doors for the back then some trailer lights, and a test drive.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. I really want to get it finished so I can try it out, I hope it pulls well behind the bike. Maybe we could make a trip over to New Orleans and give you a visit GPW, my wife is from your neck of the woods. With work getting in the way of my building it will be another week or two before I finish weather permitting. I saw a popup camper on craigslist here for $100 dollars, it was 8 ft. and i thought wow that would make a great standie. My wife would kill me if I brought another trailer home lol.
