you know.. you could always carve it the dome? instead of all the cutting a glueing. Poly foam inc makes BIG blocks of the stuff.. you can then sculpt to your hearts content to make a dome, windows/portholes.. what have you. http://www.foam-mn.com/Pages/LargeBlockEPS.aspx we used to get stuff from them to sculpt things for theatrical sets
