Anybody use Styroplast from HWFF

Postby badgerkeeb » Mon Apr 16, 2018 1:48 am

I was wondering if anybody has used the Styroplast foam coating from Hot Wire Foam Factory on their Foamie? I'm thinking I'll apply a base layer of PMF and then cover that with the Styroplast. If anybody has any experience with this stuff I would sure appreciate hearing from you.

I'm not sure what the benefit would be over PMF. You could use it instead of PMF over foam. That would make sense if the shape would be hard to cover with PMF.

I think it was discussed in the Big Thread? If I rememeber correctly it will eventually crack when in motion.

I've used a lot of StyroSpray 1000 for RC aircraft. It's neat stuff but there is definitely a learning curve to use it successfully. I assume that styroplast is similar. Temp and humidity are important. You might want to try a small test object before using it on your tear.
