Alaskan Fomie

Postby Possum » Fri Jun 08, 2018 6:36 pm

Greeting from the Land of the Midnight Sun! I spend a long, cold winter reading the entire inital foamie post and many other areas of the forum. Was initially going to build a "standard" wood Tear, but skills got in the way. Stumbled onto this Foamie (forgiving) way to build, and much lighter for my 2014 CR-V to pull. Started the build in March, which usually is the beginning if the warmer months here in Fairbanks, Alaska but this year the winter decided to hold on so i had to allow a little extra time for gluing, painting, and general assembly. Still have some minor interior fixes, but had the itch to get it at least in the campground. Grandson was pretty eager too. My plan is to figure out how to post the build, and my learning experiance just as many of you did to help me out. You may notice that the shape is pretty close to Bonnie's - as well as alot of ideas from George. One Thing that was easy to get was the 2" foam board - used fairly often up here. Thanks for reading.

Thank you both, i really could/would not have accomplished the build without everyones help. I started with an old 4x8 trailer that i had but knew it would be too skinny so i built a 5x8 platform. I upgraded later to a 5x8 trailer from Lowes when it went on sale.
Side bar: my pics show really large, is there a way to make them thumbnail size?

If you have Paint on your computer you can load the pictures into Paint. At the top you will see a option to resize, make sure the "maintain aspect ratio" is checked and select what % you want to reduce the size of the picture to. Then save as your choice of file type. Usually jpeg, or png. It will select the same file name as the original file at that time. I usually use the same name with a "s" (small) behind it to make it simple.
