really need help from experts in foam building

hello foamies...

Let me first explane my dilemma , i am planning on a long road trip on my motorized bicycle from PA the east coast and then back . So i will be ruffing it quiet a bit and a small light weight trailer that i can sleep in is the right solution. and from several directions here in the forums i was directed to this group and so here i am. i honestly have no clue of what size to make it was thinking a 8x3 but i think a 6x3 is the right size. i have seen a few bike trailers made out of tubed steel...like this just wondering if it would be possible to use this to build my trailer.

What's the weight rating of the frame you have, and how much gear weight you plan on storing in it? Trailer weight minus gear weight equals about the allowed weight of the build. That is if the trailer is supported when you get in..

If I recall right.. most of these bike trailers are 150lb capacity.. Personally, I'm heavier than that.. My backpacking gear/supplies was about 35-40lbs.. Then the wheels are too far forward to balance a 6ft box correctly..

IMHO, not the trailer for a solid sided trailer. Fold out tent might better fit that trailer. I'm see some fabricating to that trailer.

That's what I thought.. Let's say a sheet of plywood for the base and 3 sheets of styrofoam (1.5"??) walls and roof. 60-80lbs.. This is weighted by full sheet, but you can see how the weight goes.

Have you done a design yet? That would help in figuring the trailer rating. Also weight of what you plan to carry in it.

Are you opposed to canvas sides? My mind goes to a lift top (tilt style) so it would be lighter, low profile for trailering and sleeker looking.
