Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Yeah! Starting the last big panel to canvass....the roof:



It's on!



And it is looking good:



I am really excited about getting the roof done, Gets me a LOT closer to getting this puppy on it's trailer.

More progress today, Cut and glued down the roof canvas:



The back:



Roof itself, did good!



Drivers side, profile:



Passenger side profile:



I installed the rear triangle shelves, caulked and painted them, this, from at the door entrance:



Inside, from rear window:



Inside, from laying down position:



Now just need to:

1> Prime the roof/edges.
2> Coat the bottom.
3> Install drip edges...
4> Outside latex paint...
5> Install windows/doors...

Then, were ready for Trailer mounting !!!

It is basically a unibody...

this build is coming along like a line in a Jimmy Buffet song

it's "so simple it plumb evaded me"

this build is ELEGANTLY SIMPLE !

an insuated hard sided tent up off the ground where the bed can be left made up for a semi-instant camp

I finished the primer coat and managed to get it outside via a dolly:



And roll it over in it's side for the "Henry's Elastomeric" coatings...



Then, a friend in the neighborhood helped me lift it on the trailer:

This was a BIG STEP forward!!

Now to figure out that drip edge!!

A “Patio" too !!! COOL !!!

Did my drip edges today. Went for the kind you see on the sides of your house, as my spacers were thick enough and since my trailer is welded, bolt heads protruding, was not an issue:

This is how they are in there...slid between trailer and spacer board, then trailer tightened down...



I will run a small bead of caulk...but seems pretty tight as is...



Hope this was not a "bad idea"...

Looks good. Yes caulk is good. Water gets into everything. Don't want a moisture trap. I do water crossings so I need to make sure my drip edge is sealed inside and outside.

Time to paint my camper with exterior latex paint. I feel like mine looks "too tall" because I sawed some off to allow for the rear cargo area...

What can I do with paint, to make it look less tall and longer?

GPW, this might be right down your alley, let me know you think, please...

Here is one of my ideas...make it have a curve like a traditional TD:

Jazz, I personally ( JMHO ) think it looks GREAT !!! If you want to make it look longer then some horizontal lines/shapes will do that , Vertical lines will make it look shorter …
