I'm planning my foamie so that once I have the money, I already know what I want to make.

My question is how to tell how much weight the walls will support? I was thinking of building the walls from foam, but putting a wood framed murphy style bed on one or more of the walls. I want one(s) that lower(s) down onto table/kitchen/cabinets for additional support. I'm plus sized, so I'm not sure how to tell if building one would meet my needs.

Strength of a foam construction can run the gamut.

You're basically dealing with a composite structure, and the strength of a composite panel is dependent on the materials used and the construction methods.

The best way to tell is to build a sample piece and test it.

You really can't fasten anything of much weight to just the foam walls. The composite panel is strong but not locally.

You should embed wood or metal, and fasten your bed to that, carrying the weight to the floor or frame.
