Doug, thanks for the comments. I'm sure your Rambler will do just fine. You may not get there fast but you will get there. I've always loved wagons and when this one came up I had to have it. My first trip with mine will be in July to a vintage trailer rally down here. Then I plan on going to Big Bear or something like that.

Nick.

We just got a Subaru Forester to tow our TD. It works out well at 23 mpg.

I'm deciding on a style now. I'll try to make it resemble the styling of the wagon that I'll be pulling it with...

My sister also has a new beetle, grey TDI, and my parents just bought an 06 convertible cherry red new beetle. I told them they need to make themselves a trailer and we could have a caravan. I guess me and mine will be the test subjects. Nic, are you building from the cubby plans too?

Subaru Outback 2.5i

Postby OzarkWonder » Sun Aug 13, 2006 10:44 pm

We just pulled our 58" wide Comet (880 lbs. empty, closet and kitchen not included) with our new Subaru Outback 2.5i to Colorado and back. Other than poor gas mileage (about 15 mpg) absolutely no complaints. The Chevy Astro van that we traded got 15 mpg regularly and the Outback gets about 29 normally, so now we only pay the penalty when we are towing instead of year-round.

Heya Thobs, Good job at getting the fam into new beetles. Now they just need a tear like you said. As soon as i got my family into honda cars i went VW. I think im going to stick with them. (or maybe an audi A4 one day. hehe) Im not building my camper from plans. I came up with my own plans in my head. I needed more room being 6'4 then any plans gave and its free to come up with your own plans. To tell you the truth it didnt come out the shape i had in mind, but i like it. Its not like any other. Only im not sure if people would call it a teardrop. Because of the back end. Get better soon so you can get that camper done and more pix posted. :D

From what I've read in aother blog, Autoweek released pics of the new CR-V and MDX without approval.
