I'm 62 and I think the downhill (26.5 mile) ride should be a lot of fun. What happens when you get to the bottom of the 26.5 mile long hill?

I'm just kidding!! That's a lot of miles up or down hill.
Very impressive.

I loved my job until new management came in. Took about 7 years of that for me to say enough. I think I was very lucky that I could retire last year on my 55 birthday. And they are right.........I dont know where the days go! But I am loving it. :D
Kenny could retire in about 4 years but he is looking at another job which will delay that!

Norma and I are about to leave the largest demographic.
We turn 55 in October. 10th for me and 13th for her. She's pretty quick to remind me I'm older than her, but it doesn't take much to figure out I don't act it

Darn, I hate these things... every few years, I drop into a lower category.. pretty soon, there won't be any left for me.... now I'm worried.

I WIN!

I'm in the poll-leading age group.

I'm not old and retired, but I am a cancer survivor, so I'm not waiting to enjoy the things I like to do. I know now that I may not get a chance to be "old and retired", so I got my TD now.

I'm sorry to hear that Peg. I retired at 53. I had to retire, the 'honey do' list was getting to long.

Charles and I will be 47 very soon.
I have semi retired (working 3 days a week) but spending more time cleaning houses and working in my shop.
Charles will retire in 2 years and a couple of weeks ( if he were standing here he could tell me exactally down to the minute)
Charles will be drawing a retirement check but I can't touch my pension profit for what seems like forever.
After his retirement we will be doing odd jobs together, remodeling, etc. and he will continue his side job building metal buildings.

I thought we would have time to go camping more now that we both have 3 day weekends but it hasn't happened. Wonder about after retirement?

I just turned 49 this year. Best case scenerio would be retiring at 55. It probably won't happen but I can dream. After 22+ years at my current employers I'll be ready for a change at 55 even if I can't retire (I'm ready NOW but don't tell my boss).

One of my friends used to say "Work to live, don't live to work."

Gage, that must have been one heck of a list. Correct me if I'm wrong but that had to be twenty years ago.

Did you ever get to the bottom of the list of is it one of those never ending ones (like mine)?

I am 41 and cindy is 4?.. umm 39 (younger than I) and we have an 11 yr old daughter. I am a Methodist minister and mandatory retirement is at age 70 - still a long ways away. However I am closer to the AARP membership! I can still do all i could do in my 20's but the healing takes a little longer.
