Postby Kit76 » Tue Jan 23, 2007 4:55 pm

I'm About to Start Building A Tear And Everyone I Know Seems To Be Making Fun Of Me, Ecspecially My In-Laws(Imagine That) Did Anyone Have This Problem?

Yep, lots of folks made fun of me even my in-laws. Now those are the same people that are asking to borrow it. I just tell them they should build their own.

They are just jealous! :envious:

In my case it just gave them a different reason to make fun of me.

Welcome!

My wife even made fun of me, but now she thinks it's pretty cool.

Most people think bigger is always better. Not so. Teardrops prove it.
Also I think people generally don;t support what they haven't experienced in some way.

Believe in your self, build it your way and have fun while you doing it. The Doubters will come around when they see the advantages and practicality.

People said, "You're building what, a camper?" They couldn't picture it.
I wasn't given too hard of a time. Mostly because people know that I like to build things. They just couldn't see somebody building a camper. I think they were just curious to see how it would turn out.

Even though my wife knew what a teardrop was, she had a hard time visualizing it for the first month or so. Not until we visited somebody who was building one was when she could picture it.

Chris, questioning your sanity already :? Well, you've come to the right place 8)

I had people laugh at me when I showed them pictures of what I was going to build. Since it's been finished they've all changed their minds about them. Just do it and don't worry about what other people say.

Oh yeah, Miriam just loves pics of your progress

Cheers
Paul

Just show the nay sayers the pictures in the Hall of Fame (upper left corner of your screen) Teardrops are so easy even a cave man could build one. :D

If you have one of these posted by your build, no one would dare say anything.

Chris, yes we have had our critics, and a lot of nay sayers, (looks like your building your own cofin. ouch, that hurt.) But as more and more pieces come together, the less critics there are. As they say on this site. get'r'done.  Jim G.

You will find it easy to replace your friends and family with your new friends and family on this forum who will give you all the sympathy, encouragement, and duly earned congratulations for this project.

Ignore those who mock you. True friends and family always support even your wildest ideas.

Do not question your sanity--you have none! And neither do the members of this forum. But who can prove that sanity is a prerequisite for any type of accomplishment?

So, start your build. Obsess over every detail. Waste all your precious non-existant spare time and money on planning and retrieving materials. When you finish your trophy, you can thumb your nose at all those who doubted you. Believe me, they will never underestimate your talents or dreams again.

Welcome to your new crazy group of friends.
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.
