My favorite is boondocking and 2nd is state and federal CG as I get handicap discounts. But my wife would want CG with nice restrooms and showers.

We usually camp in State & National park campgrounds since we are after the scenery and activities they offer. Gave up the K.O.A. routine in the 80's. Can't see paying K.O.A. for a parking spot when a rest stop or a Walmart parking lot will do just fine. We are very comfortable in our tear at any place that is safe & legal to stay. I haven't seen a K.O.A. that can compare to this. Danny

My favorite campground is the Hunting Island state park in South Carolina. They have both wooded and spots right on the beach front. Palmetto trees, Spanish moss, just beautifull. There are deer there that come right up to you, no fear 8) You gotta make sure your food is locked up at night though, the raccoons are everywhere, they even know how to open your cooler. :D One of our earlier trips ther many years ago the raccoons took us by surprise, they actually opened the cooler at night while we were asleap and got into our egg carton. The took each egg, ate it and then put them back in the carton and then closed the cooler!! :? :? :? now that's a smart animal!

For me it's a toss up between private (city) campgrounds and state parks. My favorites are Madison Indiana (city) campground and Bean Blossom Blues festival campground because of the events surrounding the camping.
Both have a great blues fest weekends that enhance the weekend activity.

As I think about it, I could enjoy the experience with a simple campfire and a good day of fishing. The Blues festivals add to the fun, but basic camping with (or without other teardroppers) is enjoyable by itself.

Heck I have a small fire pit in the back yard that I light up almost every night for a relaxing evening of guitar or harmonica playing as well as listening to talk radio. I'm pretty easy to please, as you can tell.

Geez I had forgot I did this one, as a poll a long time ago back when the board was only about a hundred or so members. Gosh time flys
