How many keep a Log Book?

Here's where we keep the polls, and anyone can start a poll!

Postby SteveH » Tue May 22, 2007 11:18 am

I have a log in my computer, but not a "book". The log tracks distination and date of trips, miles driven, and nights stayed in the TD. Since 3/05, 18,615 miles, and 49 nights. I think it might work out.

I keep all of my camping receipts...if that counts.

Sure do... its all in my Palm TX PDA... heck... my whole life is in that thing!!

Pertaining to my travel adventures: miles, maintenance, places, highlights, things to get, things to bring next time, things to leave home next time, places I want to go next, expenses...

Just a very small part of what I keep in this thing...

I keep track of gas mileage and my mastercard bill keeps track of the rest... that's about it.

I just found this thread. Kewl as I bought a pretty little notebook to use a log yesterday. I figured I could log mileage, campsites, what I liked, what I found, etc.

It is laying on the windowsill waiting for the maiden voyage this weekend.

My kid and wife keep a camping log. It has where, what, who, highlights, etc. They have been keeping it for years, I should look at it some time..

With the exception of my older vehicle's which only get about 1000 mi per year between service's, the newer ones are all computer controlled service intervals so I don't really bother.
I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction, the world will have a generation of idiot's.

I log the trip.
Mileage
Gas mileage
Meals made - tracking propane consumption
Maintenance on the trailer - greasing hubs
Birds seen
Weather notes if we get unusual weather
Notes for things to follow up on
Anything interesting that happened

No log. Just an ever changing to-do list.

Log keeping reminds me of work. Log this, log that, log when I go to the bathroom.... no wait, that "system" logs that with my keypass swipes.

Closest I come to is a photo album. I take a few pictures of the campground and a feature or two of the area. Kinda bulky but fun to look at.
