2 doors. And won't camp where the bears roam.

I do recall builders wishing that they would have installed 2 doors, but have never seen a post where someone wished their second door could be done away with and made into a solid wall.

We have one door with a 21" square window, and a large (31"x23") window on the opposite side. The big window gives us lots of light and good ventilation, and it's an emergency exit type window, so we can get out if we have to.
As for late night bathroom trips, I sleep on the door side, so if I need to go, I just get up and go. If my wife goes, I'm going with her anyway. I won't let her walk to a campground bathroom alone in the middle of the night! We don't regret not having a second door.

Am I a scaredee cat? Uhh...No. Am I really, really scared of bears...Uhh...damn straight I am.

LIONS AND TIGERS AND BEARS...OH MY!!
After reading this, I've decided on two doors for my build even though I camp alone. (Good thing I haven't started the framing for the walls yet.) I'm not so concerned with bears in the areas I'll be camping, but snakes are another thing. I don't know how high they can jump; but if one makes it in one door I am definitely going out the other!!

The other reasons everybody mentioned for two doors makes a lot of sense as well. Just a little extra hardware to buy.

When I was in the planning stages I was in Zion National park and met a guy from Canada with a very fine tear. It had one door. "Go with one door, by the time you get that one done you will be tired."

So I did and I would do it again that way.

It is not half as inconvenient as some would say.
